Although he's an excellent writer and poet, he also is able to rhyme freely, without preparation, and instantly so, in what Hip-Hop calls freestyle.  He lives and breathes the art of rhyme, rhythm and blues.  He began his rap artistry at the age of 13 by chance. He gained inspiration by watching raw reality rap DVDs that showcased local rap artists from Philadelphia.  This led to Paperz joining in and realizing his gift and potential. 

 

Most rappers cater to their exciting rockstar lifestyle when making music; focused more on fun, partying, and inebriation.  Pook Paperz, however, is identified by his focus on the woes of his surroundings and circumstances growing up in inner-city poverty with lesser opportunities for success in life.  Some know this as a sub-genre in hip-hop/rap called 'pain music'.  Listening to the pure rhythm and blues records while growing up definitely expanded his lyrical content horizons and ability to feel music differently than his contemporaries.

 

His gifts and ties to the musical streets of Philly led to his being managed by Touch Money Ent at the age of 17.  The label, full of local talent, released a breakthrough mixtape for Paperz alongside labelmate Brickz entitled Young & the Reckless.  This catapulted Paperz into popularity that came to an abrupt stop as he dealt with legal matters.

Unfortunately, in the year 2018, Paperz suffered betrayal and defamation which led to the fight of his life in the legal system.  While the fight is not over, fortunately, after over 5 years, Paperz has been released and is back to his first love, Music.  Mr. Paperz is now working on his debut album.  Fans have shown him an immense amount of love and regards, eager to hear his latest musical expressions.  Stay tuned for his book release and documentary series!  Sign up for his Upcoming Events by clicking the tab above.
